The fast end

What is the fastest gaming laptop you can buy?

The quickest machine we hold comparable figures for is the Schenker XMG Neo 16 A25, averaging 201fps across our five-game suite at 1080p High with upscaling off.

But you probably can't buy it. It has no UK listing we can confirm. The fastest machine you can actually put in a basket is the MSI Raider A18 HX at 183fps, £3,584.

The fifteen quickest, measured the same way

Every machine below was averaged over the identical five games, so the column means something. Frame rates are sourced, not ours — see how we do this.

It's the GPU, and then it's the power limit

Averaged across every laptop we hold a full suite for. The gap between the best and the mean inside a single tier is the part most spec sheets hide: two laptops with the same GPU are not the same laptop, because the wattage the chassis will actually let it draw differs.

Machines we can't rank yet

These carry a current-generation GPU and real measured figures, but their reviews used a different slice of the test suite, so putting them in the table above would mean comparing a mean over five games against a mean over three or four. That isn't a ranking, it's an illusion — so here they are with the figures we do hold, stated for what they are.

How these numbers were produced

Frame rates here are not measured by us, and we label how each one was arrived at. A figure marked measured comes from a published run on that exact machine. A figure marked representative is derived from the GPU and its power limit (TGP) and cross-referenced against published reviews - a sound estimate of what that configuration delivers, but not a measurement of that specific laptop. Unless stated otherwise, numbers are 1920x1080, High preset, upscaling off. Where a laptop ships in several power configurations we use the wattage of the exact SKU listed, because a 140W RTX 5070 and a 115W one are not the same product.
