What it asks of a laptop
At 1920x1080 on the High preset with upscaling off, Riders Republic looks relatively forgiving for a modern gaming laptop in this set of Notebookcheck figures. All 12 measured laptops reached 60fps or better, the slowest result was still 69fps, and the median was 110fps. That is a broad enough sample to show that the game is very playable at these settings across a wide range of dedicated laptop GPUs.
The recorded range is substantial, from 69fps on the HP Victus 16-e0145ng with an RTX 3050 Ti at 75W to 185fps on the Medion Erazer Beast X40 with an RTX 4090. However, the lower end is not struggling to meet a conventional 60fps target. Instead, the separation between machines matters more for buyers targeting high-refresh displays: 10 of the 12 laptops reached 100fps, while only one reached 144fps.
Notebookcheck’s numbers suggest that the game scales sensibly with available GPU performance, but laptop configuration still matters. The RTX 3080 Ti results are a useful example: the MSI GE76 Raider with a 175W RTX 3080 Ti achieved 138fps, whereas the Gigabyte Aero 16 YE5 with a 105W RTX 3080 Ti recorded 101fps. Both are comfortably fast, but they are not interchangeable results simply because they share the same GPU name.
The same caution applies to the older RTX 3070-family machines. The measured RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti averages both sit at 110fps, but that is based on two laptops in each group, not a guarantee that every laptop using those GPUs will produce the same result. In practical terms, though, these figures indicate that Riders Republic does not require a flagship laptop to run well at 1080p High without upscaling.
What runs it
For a 60fps target, every laptop in the measured set clears the line. The most modest result is the HP Victus 16-e0145ng with an RTX 3050 Ti at 75W, which achieved 69fps. The Lenovo Legion S7 15ACH6 with an RTX 3060 at 100W followed at 88fps. Based on these specific results, even these lower-performing tested machines provide enough headroom for a 60Hz display at 1080p High.
If 100fps is the goal, the results favour RTX 4050-class hardware and above in this particular sample, plus the tested RTX 3070, RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 Ti machines. The Medion Erazer Scout E20 with an RTX 4050 at 100W reached 107fps. The two RTX 3070 laptops recorded 114fps and 106fps, while the two RTX 3070 Ti machines produced 115fps and 104fps.
- RTX 4090: 185fps on one measured laptop, the Medion Erazer Beast X40.
- RTX 4070: 135fps on one measured laptop, the Asus ROG Strix G18 at 165W.
- RTX 4060: 122fps on one measured laptop, the MSI Katana 17.
- RTX 3080 Ti: 120fps mean across two laptops, with results of 138fps at 175W and 101fps at 105W.
- RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti: 110fps mean for each tier across two laptops apiece.
- RTX 4050: 107fps on one measured 100W laptop.
- RTX 3060: 88fps on one measured 100W laptop.
- RTX 3050 Ti: 69fps on one measured 75W laptop.
A 144fps target is a different matter. Of the 12 measured laptops, only the Medion Erazer Beast X40 with an RTX 4090 reached it, at 185fps. The MSI GE76 Raider’s 175W RTX 3080 Ti came close at 138fps, as did the Asus ROG Strix G18’s 165W RTX 4070 at 135fps, but neither crossed 144fps in these figures. A 144Hz screen is therefore not wasted on the faster machines, but the measured results do not support promising a locked 144fps from every RTX 4070, RTX 3080 Ti or similar laptop.
The cheapest laptop that handles it
The fact sheet provides a price for only one laptop: the MSI Stealth GS66 with RTX 3070 Ti, listed at £2,688. It achieved 104fps, making it one of the 10 measured machines above 100fps and comfortably above a 60fps target.
That does not make it possible to identify the cheapest laptop in the full list. Prices are not supplied for the HP Victus 16-e0145ng, Lenovo Legion S7 15ACH6, MSI Katana 17 or any of the other tested machines, so a meaningful value ranking cannot be made from this data. What can be said is that the HP Victus result of 69fps demonstrates that the game can be handled at 1080p High by a lower-performing tested configuration than the £2,688 MSI Stealth GS66.
What this means if you’re buying
For a buyer whose priority is simply smooth 1080p High play, the measured figures are reassuring. The RTX 3050 Ti laptop in this sample reached 69fps, and the RTX 3060 laptop reached 88fps. A machine in that performance area appears sufficient for a 60Hz or 75Hz target, based on these particular results.
For a laptop with a 120Hz or similarly fast display, the measured RTX 4050, RTX 4060, RTX 4070, RTX 3070, RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 Ti machines are more convincing choices. Their recorded results span 101fps to 138fps, apart from the RTX 4090’s 185fps. The RTX 4060 MSI Katana 17 at 122fps is especially notable as a measured result above 100fps, though it remains one laptop rather than a whole-tier guarantee.
Buyers chasing 144fps should be more careful. Notebookcheck’s figures show one clear 144fps result, from the RTX 4090-equipped Medion Erazer Beast X40. The next fastest measured machines were close but below that threshold. For Riders Republic at these settings, a high-end GPU can provide very high frame rates, but the data supports treating 144fps as a premium target rather than the expected outcome from every powerful gaming laptop.
How these numbers were produced
Frame rates here are not measured by us, and we label how each one was arrived at. A figure marked measured comes from a published run on that exact machine. A figure marked representative is derived from the GPU and its power limit (TGP) and cross-referenced against published reviews - a sound estimate of what that configuration delivers, but not a measurement of that specific laptop. Unless stated otherwise, numbers are 1920x1080, High preset, upscaling off. Where a laptop ships in several power configurations we use the wattage of the exact SKU listed, because a 140W RTX 5070 and a 115W one are not the same product.
