Star Wars Jedi Survivor (2023): what it takes to run it

What it asks of a laptop
Star Wars Jedi Survivor is demanding enough to expose substantial differences between gaming-laptop GPUs and power limits, but the measured results show that 60fps at 1,920 x 1,080 on the High preset is achievable on a wide range of dedicated-GPU machines. Notebookcheck’s figures cover nine laptops, with upscaling disabled. Eight of those nine reached at least 60fps, while only two exceeded 100fps and none reached 144fps.
The overall range is large: from 122fps on the 175W RTX 4090-equipped Schenker Key 17 Pro to 20fps on the 35W RTX 2050 Acer Aspire 5. The median result is 65fps, which is useful context for buyers targeting a conventional 60Hz display: the middle of this sample is around that threshold rather than comfortably beyond it.
The separation between GPU tiers is clear at the top and bottom of the table. The two RTX 4090 laptops averaged 114fps, whereas the single RTX 2050 result was 20fps. Between those extremes, however, the results are more compressed. The measured RTX 4070 laptops averaged 69fps, the RTX 4060 machine recorded 65fps, and the two RTX 4050 laptops averaged 62fps.
That clustering means this is not a title where the measured High-preset results show a huge practical gap between every current mid-range GPU tier. The RTX 4070 results do still show variation: the 105W MSI Stealth 16 Studio reached 76fps, while the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 2024 with a 75W RTX 4070 reached 67fps and the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 2024 managed 65fps. In this small sample, the RTX 4070 label alone does not describe the full result.
There are only nine laptops in the data, including just one RTX 4060 system and one RTX 2050 system. These figures therefore describe the specific machines measured, rather than establishing a guarantee for every laptop using those GPUs.
What runs it
For a 60fps target at 1080p High with upscaling off, the measured figures are encouraging for the tested RTX 4050-and-above laptops. Both RTX 4050 machines cleared the line: the Medion Erazer Scout E20, with an RTX 4050 at 100W, achieved 63fps, while the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16ARX8 with an RTX 4050 achieved exactly 60fps.
The sole RTX 4060 result was also just above that level. The Medion Erazer Defender P40, using an RTX 4060 at 140W, returned 65fps. That is a playable measured result for a 60fps target, but it is only one laptop, so it should not be read as evidence that every RTX 4060 laptop will deliver the same outcome.
All three tested RTX 4070 laptops exceeded 60fps. The MSI Stealth 16 Studio was the quickest of them at 76fps with its 105W RTX 4070. The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 2024 reached 67fps with a 75W RTX 4070, and the Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 2024 recorded 65fps. These are suitable measured results for a 60fps-oriented laptop, though they are not evidence of consistent high-refresh-rate performance.
For 100fps, the sample becomes much narrower. Only the two RTX 4090 laptops reached that level: 122fps from the Schenker Key 17 Pro (Early 23), fitted with a 175W RTX 4090, and 106fps from the Asus ROG Strix Scar 17. Their 114fps mean is well ahead of the other tested GPU tiers.
No measured laptop reached 144fps. Even the fastest result, the Schenker’s 122fps, remains 22fps short of that mark. Buyers with a 144Hz or faster display should therefore not assume that the High preset without upscaling will keep the panel fully fed, even with the fastest laptop in this set.
The Acer Aspire 5 is the clear exception in the sample. Its 35W RTX 2050 produced 20fps, far below the 60fps threshold and 45fps behind the sample median. On the measured settings, that specific low-power RTX 2050 configuration is not an acceptable fit for a smooth 60fps experience.
The cheapest laptop that handles it
The fact sheet does not provide prices for most of the measured laptops, so it cannot establish which is genuinely the cheapest option. The only listed price is £4,876 for the Asus ROG Strix Scar 17, which achieved 106fps with its RTX 4090. It is one of the two machines that cleared 100fps, but the available figures do not support calling it the cheapest laptop that handles the game.
For a buyer looking for the lowest performance level shown to meet 60fps, the specific measured options are the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16ARX8 at 60fps and the Medion Erazer Scout E20 at 63fps, both using RTX 4050 graphics. The Medion Erazer Defender P40 with RTX 4060 managed 65fps. Without prices, these should be treated as the lowest measured performance tier that handled the game, not as a verified lowest-cost recommendation.
What this means if you’re buying
If your aim is a 60fps experience at 1080p High with upscaling off, the measured data suggests concentrating on laptops comparable to the tested RTX 4050, RTX 4060 and RTX 4070 systems. The results from 60fps to 76fps leave varying amounts of headroom, so the specific laptop design matters rather than just the GPU name.
If you want frame rates above 100fps on these settings, the measured results point to RTX 4090 laptops. That is a considerable jump in hardware class: the two RTX 4090 machines delivered 106fps and 122fps, while the fastest non-4090 result in this sample was 76fps.
Finally, avoid treating a dedicated GPU badge as sufficient on its own. The 20fps Acer Aspire 5 result shows that an RTX 2050 at 35W is in a very different performance category from the RTX 4050-and-above machines measured here. For this game, the laptop’s GPU tier and power configuration are both relevant to whether High settings produce a satisfactory result.
How these numbers were produced
Frame rates here are not measured by us, and we label how each one was arrived at. A figure marked measured comes from a published run on that exact machine. A figure marked representative is derived from the GPU and its power limit (TGP) and cross-referenced against published reviews - a sound estimate of what that configuration delivers, but not a measurement of that specific laptop. Unless stated otherwise, numbers are 1920x1080, High preset, upscaling off. Where a laptop ships in several power configurations we use the wattage of the exact SKU listed, because a 140W RTX 5070 and a 115W one are not the same product.
