What it asks of a laptop
At 1920x1080 using the High preset with upscaling off, Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection looks relatively forgiving for a modern gaming laptop if the target is 60fps. Notebookcheck's measured figures cover seven laptops, and every one of them cleared 60fps. The result range is 67fps to 86fps, with a median of 75fps.
That is a useful outcome, but the sample is still limited to seven machines and covers only RTX 4050, RTX 4060, RTX 4070 and RTX 3070 Ti laptops. It does not establish what lower-spec gaming laptops, integrated graphics machines, or older entry-level GPUs can achieve. The safe conclusion is that these seven tested laptops all ran the game comfortably above 60fps at the stated settings.
The 19fps gap between the fastest and slowest result is not huge considering the GPU range involved. The fastest machine, the MSI Stealth 16 Studio with an RTX 4070 running at 105W, reached 86fps. The slowest, the Medion Erazer Scout E20 with an RTX 4050 at 100W, managed 67fps. Even the lowest result is 7fps above 60fps.
The GPU-tier averages separate in the expected order, although not dramatically. The two RTX 4070 laptops averaged 85fps, the lone RTX 4060 result was 79fps, the two RTX 3070 Ti systems averaged 74fps, and the two RTX 4050 laptops averaged 68fps. This suggests that the game benefits from more graphics performance, but the measured gap between tiers is more important for chasing higher refresh rates than for simply obtaining a smooth 60fps experience.
There is also no clean wattage rule in this small set of figures. The 105W RTX 4070-equipped MSI recorded 86fps, ahead of the 140W RTX 4070 Aorus 15X ASF at 84fps. Likewise, the 140W RTX 4050 in the Schenker XMG Apex 15 reached 68fps, only 1fps ahead of the 100W RTX 4050 Medion. Those results describe these particular laptops; they should not be used to rank GPU power limits in general.
What runs it
For 60fps at the tested 1080p High settings, all seven measured laptops qualify. That includes both RTX 4050 machines, which are the lowest GPU tier in the supplied figures.
- RTX 4070: The MSI Stealth 16 Studio achieved 86fps and the Aorus 15X ASF achieved 84fps. The tier average was 85fps across two laptops. Both are well beyond 60fps, but neither reached 100fps.
- RTX 4060: The MSI Katana 17 recorded 79fps. This is a solid 60fps result and sits between the tested RTX 4070 and RTX 3070 Ti machines. However, it is only one laptop result, so it should not be treated as a definitive RTX 4060 average.
- RTX 3070 Ti: The Aorus 15 XE5, with a 130W RTX 3070 Ti, reached 75fps. The Razer Blade 15 OLED, with a 110W RTX 3070 Ti, recorded 72fps. Their average was 74fps across two laptops.
- RTX 4050: The Schenker XMG Apex 15 reached 68fps with its 140W RTX 4050, while the Medion Erazer Scout E20 managed 67fps with a 100W RTX 4050. Both cleared 60fps, though with the least headroom in this group.
No tested laptop reached 100fps. The best measured result was 86fps, meaning 0 of 7 machines met that threshold at 1080p High with upscaling disabled. A 100Hz or faster display can still be useful, but these figures do not support an expectation of a sustained 100fps result on the tested configuration.
No tested laptop reached 144fps either. Again, 0 of 7 met that mark. A 144Hz panel is not wasted, but the measured numbers indicate that High settings at native 1080p will not fully exploit a 144Hz screen on any of these specific machines.
The cheapest laptop that handles it
The fact sheet does not provide UK prices for any of the measured laptops, so it is not possible to identify the cheapest option in GBP without inventing information. What the numbers do show is that the two lowest-performing and presumably lower-tier GPU examples in this comparison were still capable of the 60fps target.
The specific RTX 4050 machines were the Schenker XMG Apex 15 (Late 23), at 68fps, and the Medion Erazer Scout E20, at 67fps. On this evidence, either handles the game at 1920x1080 High with upscaling off. But there are no prices supplied for either machine, so neither can responsibly be labelled the better-value or cheaper purchase.
The MSI Katana 17 with RTX 4060 produced 79fps, giving it an 11fps lead over the faster of the two RTX 4050 results. Whether that extra performance is worth paying for depends entirely on the actual laptop prices and on the buyer's wider needs; the supplied data cannot answer the price-to-performance question.
What this means if you're buying
If your aim is simply to run Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection at 1080p High without upscaling and stay above 60fps, the seven measured results are reassuring. Every tested RTX 4050, RTX 4060, RTX 4070 and RTX 3070 Ti laptop did so, with the lowest result still reaching 67fps.
An RTX 4050 laptop is therefore sufficient in the two machines measured here, but it offers the smallest performance margin. The RTX 4050 results sit only 7fps and 8fps above 60fps. That is acceptable according to these figures, though it leaves less room than the RTX 4060, RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 4070 examples if performance varies between areas or if a buyer wants additional headroom.
For more comfortable performance within this dataset, the RTX 4060 MSI Katana 17 at 79fps and the RTX 3070 Ti machines at 72fps and 75fps form a useful middle ground. The RTX 4070 laptops were fastest at 84fps and 86fps, but their advantage over the RTX 4060 result was 5fps to 7fps rather than a route to triple-digit performance.
Buy for a 60fps target and the measured RTX 4050 laptops can do the job. Buy for the highest measured frame rates at these settings and the two RTX 4070 laptops lead the table. Do not buy specifically expecting 100fps or 144fps at native 1080p High with upscaling off, however: Notebookcheck's numbers show that none of the seven tested laptops reached either threshold.
How these numbers were produced
Frame rates here are not measured by us, and we label how each one was arrived at. A figure marked measured comes from a published run on that exact machine. A figure marked representative is derived from the GPU and its power limit (TGP) and cross-referenced against published reviews - a sound estimate of what that configuration delivers, but not a measurement of that specific laptop. Unless stated otherwise, numbers are 1920x1080, High preset, upscaling off. Where a laptop ships in several power configurations we use the wattage of the exact SKU listed, because a 140W RTX 5070 and a 115W one are not the same product.
