What it asks of a laptop

At 1920x1080 using the High preset with upscaling off, Immortals Fenyx Rising appears relatively manageable for a gaming laptop, at least among the seven systems covered by Notebookcheck's measured figures. Five of the seven laptops reached 60fps or better, while the overall range runs from 54fps to 101fps. The median result is 88fps, which is a healthy figure for this test setting.

That said, this is a small sample of seven laptops, so the numbers describe these particular machines rather than every laptop carrying the same GPU name. Power limits, cooling and the rest of the laptop configuration can matter, and the results here show that GPU tier is not the whole story.

The separation between the lower-end and higher-end graphics chips is clear. The RTX 2060-equipped HP Omen 15-en0375ng managed 54fps, and the RTX 3050 Ti at 95W in the Asus ROG Strix G17 reached 58fps. Both are close to 60fps, but neither cleared it in Notebookcheck's figures.

Above those two, results rise sharply. The RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 laptops in the sample delivered between 87fps and 101fps, while the sole RTX 4050 result also reached 101fps. This suggests that High at 1080p is not especially punishing for better-equipped gaming laptops, but it is enough to keep the tested systems below 144fps. None of the seven laptops reached that mark.

What runs it

60fps-class play

Five of the seven measured laptops were at or above 60fps. The systems that did so were:

The two laptops below 60fps were not far away: the RTX 3050 Ti Asus ROG Strix G17 recorded 58fps, while the RTX 2060 HP Omen 15-en0375ng recorded 54fps. Those figures indicate that these specific machines are near the threshold at this resolution and preset, rather than dramatically underpowered for the game.

100fps-class performance

Only two of the seven tested laptops reached 100fps: the Medion Erazer Scout E20 with its 100W RTX 4050, and the Schenker XMG Neo 17 with an RTX 3070. Both recorded 101fps.

The next closest machine was the RTX 3080 Gigabyte Aero 17 HDR YC at 98fps. The other RTX 3080 result, the Asus ROG Zephyrus G15, was lower at 88fps. Likewise, the two RTX 3070 laptops did not match one another: the Schenker reached 101fps, while the Gigabyte Aero 15 OLED XD reached 87fps. That 14fps gap is a useful warning against treating a GPU badge as a guaranteed frame-rate result.

By the GPU-tier averages supplied, the RTX 4050 result is 101fps from one laptop, RTX 3070 averages 94fps across two laptops, and RTX 3080 averages 93fps across two laptops. These are strong results at 1080p High, but the sample is too limited to say that every laptop with one of these GPUs will produce the same outcome.

144fps targets

No measured laptop reached 144fps at 1920x1080, High, with upscaling off. The fastest result was 101fps, shared by the RTX 4050 Medion and RTX 3070 Schenker. For a buyer focused on filling a 144Hz display at these exact settings, the available figures do not provide a confirmed laptop option.

The cheapest laptop that handles it

The fact sheet provides a price for one machine only: the Asus ROG Strix G17 with an RTX 3050 Ti at 95W, listed at £1,167. Notebookcheck's measured figure for this laptop is 58fps. It therefore comes close to 60fps, but does not clear that threshold in this specific test.

It would not be accurate to call it the cheapest laptop overall for Immortals Fenyx Rising, because no prices are supplied for the other six machines. It is, however, the only priced example in the figures, and its result shows what £1,167 bought in this particular configuration: performance just below 60fps at 1080p High without upscaling.

The next lower result is the HP Omen 15-en0375ng with RTX 2060 at 54fps, but no price is given. The data therefore cannot establish whether it was cheaper or more expensive than the Asus, nor can it identify the least expensive laptop that achieves 60fps.

What this means if you're buying

If your aim is 1080p High performance without upscaling, the measured figures point towards the tested RTX 3070, RTX 3080 and RTX 4050 laptops as the more comfortable options. Every one of those five results is above 60fps, ranging from 87fps to 101fps. Their mean results by tier cluster tightly too: 94fps for the two RTX 3070 laptops and 93fps for the two RTX 3080 laptops, with the single RTX 4050 machine at 101fps.

For a 60fps target, the RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 2060 examples should be approached more cautiously. Their 58fps and 54fps results are not far below the line, but they are below it. The measured data does not support presenting either specific machine as a confirmed 60fps High-preset choice.

For a 100fps target, there are two confirmed results: the RTX 4050 Medion and RTX 3070 Schenker, both at 101fps. For 144fps at the tested settings, there is no confirmed result at all. In short, Immortals Fenyx Rising looks friendly to mid-to-upper gaming laptops at 1080p High, while older or lower-tier examples in this seven-laptop sample sit much closer to 60fps than to triple-digit performance.

How these numbers were produced

Frame rates here are not measured by us, and we label how each one was arrived at. A figure marked measured comes from a published run on that exact machine. A figure marked representative is derived from the GPU and its power limit (TGP) and cross-referenced against published reviews - a sound estimate of what that configuration delivers, but not a measurement of that specific laptop. Unless stated otherwise, numbers are 1920x1080, High preset, upscaling off. Where a laptop ships in several power configurations we use the wattage of the exact SKU listed, because a 140W RTX 5070 and a 115W one are not the same product.
