What it asks of a laptop
The available sample is small: just four laptops. These figures are Notebookcheck’s measurements at 1,920 x 1,080 using the High preset with upscaling switched off, so they show what these specific machines achieved rather than establishing a guarantee for every laptop carrying the same GPU name.
On that basis, Lies of P looks relatively forgiving for a modern gaming laptop at these settings. The slowest measured result was 113fps, while the fastest was 208fps. The 139fps median is also high, although it should be read carefully: it sits between the two RTX 4050 results and the RTX 4070 result rather than representing a large pool of similarly configured systems.
Every measured laptop cleared 60fps and 100fps at 1080p High without upscaling. That is an encouraging result for anyone targeting a conventional 60Hz display, and it also suggests that a 120Hz or 144Hz panel can be worthwhile. However, only two of the four machines reached 144fps, so the game’s demands become more apparent when the aim is to keep a high-refresh display fed at this preset.
The separation between GPU tiers is clear in the measured figures. The RTX 4050 laptops recorded 113fps and 118fps, averaging 116fps across the two machines. The single RTX 4070 laptop reached 160fps, while the RTX 4090 laptop delivered 208fps. In other words, the game does not require top-end hardware for smooth performance at 1080p High, but faster GPUs produce substantial extra headroom for high-refresh play.
There is also a useful point within the two RTX 4050 results: the Schenker XMG Apex 15 (Late 23), listed with an RTX 4050 at 140W, managed 118fps, while the Dell G15 5530, i5-13450HX RTX recorded 113fps. That 5fps gap is modest in this limited sample. It does not prove that laptop power limits or other configuration differences never matter, but it does show that both measured RTX 4050 machines were comfortably above 100fps in this test.
What runs it
RTX 4050: 113fps to 118fps in the measured laptops
The two tested RTX 4050 laptops both ran Lies of P well at 1080p High with upscaling off.

Both clear 60fps by a wide margin and both exceed 100fps. Neither reaches 144fps in the supplied measurements, so these results support an RTX 4050 laptop as a strong option for smooth 60fps or 100fps-class play at the tested settings, but not as evidence of a locked 144fps experience.
RTX 4070: 160fps in the measured laptop
The Schenker XMG Pro 16 Studio (Mid 23), equipped with an RTX 4070 at 140W, recorded 160fps. It clears the 60fps, 100fps and 144fps thresholds in the provided figures. Compared with the 116fps average of the two measured RTX 4050 systems, its result is 44fps higher.
That makes this specific RTX 4070 machine the first measured step into 144Hz territory at 1080p High without upscaling. As there is only one RTX 4070 laptop in the data, though, it would be too strong to claim that every RTX 4070 laptop will necessarily produce the same result.
RTX 4090: 208fps in the measured laptop
The Acer Predator Helios 18 with an RTX 4090 was the fastest machine in the sample at 208fps. It is 48fps ahead of the tested RTX 4070 laptop and 90fps above the RTX 4050 mean. That is substantial performance headroom at the tested 1080p High settings.
For this game alone, the measured result shows that an RTX 4090 laptop can push far beyond 144fps. But the sample contains only one RTX 4090 system, and the figures do not establish how other RTX 4090 laptops, or the same machine at different settings, will behave.
The cheapest laptop that handles it
The supplied fact sheet does not include UK prices for any of the four laptops, so it is not possible to identify the cheapest model honestly.
What the measured figures do show is that the lowest-performing machine in this set was the Dell G15 5530, i5-13450HX RTX, at 113fps, followed by the Schenker XMG Apex 15 (Late 23) with RTX 4050 at 140W, at 118fps. Both therefore handle the tested 1080p High configuration comfortably. If price is the deciding factor, these are the two measured RTX 4050 machines to compare against current UK pricing, specifications and availability.
What this means if you’re buying
For a buyer whose target is simply a smooth 60fps experience at 1,920 x 1,080 High with upscaling off, all four measured laptops have ample performance. The RTX 4050 results are particularly important here: the two tested machines delivered 113fps and 118fps, leaving a large margin above 60fps.
If you are buying around a 100Hz, 120Hz or similar high-refresh display, the measured RTX 4050 laptops remain credible options. Both exceeded 100fps in Notebookcheck’s numbers. Their results do not reach 144fps, however, so they are less persuasive if your priority is using a 144Hz panel to its full potential at the tested preset.
Among these four machines, the RTX 4070-equipped Schenker XMG Pro 16 Studio (Mid 23) is the measured choice for 144fps-class performance, at 160fps. The RTX 4090-equipped Acer Predator Helios 18 goes further still at 208fps, but its result represents extra headroom rather than a requirement for enjoyable performance in this game.
The main takeaway is that Lies of P does not appear to demand flagship laptop graphics hardware for high frame rates at 1080p High. Still, these are figures from only four laptops. Treat them as useful evidence for these named machines and GPU tiers, not as a substitute for checking the performance of the exact laptop configuration you intend to buy.
How these numbers were produced
Frame rates here are not measured by us, and we label how each one was arrived at. A figure marked measured comes from a published run on that exact machine. A figure marked representative is derived from the GPU and its power limit (TGP) and cross-referenced against published reviews - a sound estimate of what that configuration delivers, but not a measurement of that specific laptop. Unless stated otherwise, numbers are 1920x1080, High preset, upscaling off. Where a laptop ships in several power configurations we use the wattage of the exact SKU listed, because a 140W RTX 5070 and a 115W one are not the same product.
